About The Humphreys
The Humphrey Awards (or the Humphreys for short) are a competition - run as part of WordCamp UK - to find the WordCamp UK delegates’ favourite blogs.
The competition is open to all WordCamp UK delegates and is divided into four categories: favourite Theme design, favourite blog content, favourite single post and favourite plugin.
How Do I Enter?
Please read the How To Enter Your Work page for more information about this. But, in short, you’ll need to register with this site, login, then add a new post for each category in which you want to enter your work.
Simple.
What Are The Prizes?
At the time of writing, the prizes haven’t been decided upon. But please don’t let this stop you entering your blog or plugin in the Humphreys because, I can assure you, by the time of the Prize Giving at WordCamp UK we’ll have cobbled a prized bundle together that is as underwhelming as it is minuscule.
In all seriousness we’re working on the prizes at the minute so please DO ENTER!
If you do win, at the very least you’ll have the honour of knowing that you were voted for by your fellow delegates.
And that’s surely something special.
How Do I Vote?
Voting has been made easy thanks to the WP-Postratings plugin.
All scores are out of 5 stars. To vote for an entry in the Humphreys simply hover your mouse over the number of stars you want to give an entry then click.
You can only vote once per entry though so think carefully before that click!
What’s Meet The Bloggers All About?
As a way to get to know each other a little bit before WordCamp UK there a category called Meet The Bloggers.
If you want to
Why’s It Called The Humphrey Awards?
The Humphreys take their name in memory of Humphrey Lyttleton who died this year. It seems apt to honour his name as Humph was not only the UK’s 2nd best known (non-paino slapping) jazz musician (Acker Bilk’s 1st) he was also the chairman of radio’s greatest panel show I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue.
