Tell Us About You And Your Blog

Hello!

I’m Ian Covey, I’m 29 and I live in the West Midlands.

I write TVs Worst Adverts - a blog that’s dedicated to all the rubbish TV adverts shown in the UK and lets people vote for their least favourite adverts.

How Long Have You Been Blogging?

I started blogging in about 2004 when I was living in Spain on, the now defunct, “One Man and His Blog”. It was supposed to be a great way for me to stay in touch with my friends but ended up being a place I posted stupid jokes about the news. When I moved back to the UK I just didn’t have the time to blog any more.

That was until a couple of years ago when a colleague introduced me to WordPress. I was hooked again and started TWA in March 2007

Why Do You Blog?

I’ve got a real creative energy and I enjoy writing (particularly stupid jokes) so blogging is a really good way for me to focus this energy.

Plus I’m a (part-time) Stay At Home Dad so blogging lets me earn a little extra money on the side.

What Are You Hoping To Get From WordCamp UK?

Firstly, I’m really looking forward to meeting people who currently only exist a names on the WordCamp UK mailing list and hopefully make some good contacts for the future.

Plus I’d really like to hear Chris Garrett and Lorelle talk about blogging to learn how make my blog a little more successful.

Got A Picture So We Can Recognise You At WordCamp UK?

Here’s my stock Interweb picture of me looking really miserable. It’s not the best picture really because in reality I’m only slightly miserable.
